The history of Uhumain

The story of Uhumain is the story of an exceptional girl, my girlfriend, my lover, my life partner Julie-Gil. Uhumain is the combination of the words ultra and human. Julie’s dream is to design and produce sportswear for those people who push their limits, who go a little further, who go a little longer, in short, clothes for the descendants of those who roamed our forests a long time ago and from whom we have inherited this taste for adventure and nature: the coureurs des bois. For us, today’s Uhumans are the coureurs des bois of modern times, and it is for them that we create these clothes.

Uhumain is the fruit of several of Julie-Gil’s passions; Firstly, the one for the outdoors and sports, especially those of long distances. Then it is the passion of a designer of great talent for her profession, a creator who knows how to lead her ideas to feasible projects of superior quality. Thirdly, it is also the story of a committed woman who decided that it is possible to produce clothes here, at home, thus avoiding a heavy environmental burden that comes with producing clothing overseas. Finally, long years of practice both in sport and in her profession, have led her to choose merino wool as the main fabric of our clothes for the comfort, performance, but also for the health of those who will wear these clothes which, contrary to what is mainly on the market, do not contain plastic microfiber which is harmful to the body, and harmful to the environment.

Uhumain is therefore the total commitment of a sports, outdoor and clothing enthusiast, who brings more than thirty years of experience in the creation of healthy, high-performance products that are good for the planet!
